The project

An archive, not a marketplace

Project 190 exists to document the W201 chassis in one place: the road cars, the Cosworth 16-valve homologation specials, the DTM and rally history, every factory variant, and the reference data owners actually need. The build registry records real cars submitted by their owners, each with location, model and specification. The reference and tools sections cover the factory record, from chassis decoding to torque values.

The site carries no advertising and sells nothing. It is funded and run as an enthusiast project, independent of Mercedes-Benz AG.

How the record is kept

Sourcing and corrections

Historical figures (production numbers, homologation counts, race results) are drawn from Mercedes-Benz production records and contemporary motorsport results, and dated where they appear. Technical specifications follow the factory data for each engine and variant. The registry counts above update automatically as new builds are published, so the numbers on this page reflect the current community, not a fixed claim.

Found something wrong? Corrections are welcome and credited. Reach the editor through any channel below and the record gets fixed.
